On Saturday, April 10, 2010, Huntsville will experience a premier Yuri's Night Event at the Davidson Center for Space Exploration. The night will begin with a "Permission to Dream Big" VIP Reception and continue with a World Space Party!


Yuri's Night Huntsville 2010 World Space Party

From 7:00pm until midnight in the Saturn Hall of the Davidson Center, the crowds will gather to join in for this unique celebration. A large projection screen at one end of the Hall will broadcast the Yuri’s Night events from around the world. To keep the crowd moving, a favorite local band, DiscOasis, will perform through out the evening. There will be a contest and prizes for the best "Space" costume and Yuri's Night t-shirts will be available for purchasing. Telescopes will be set-up on the Saturn Terrace for a closer look at the stars. Cash bars and bar snacks will be provided.

Tickets are only $20 when purchased on-line and they will be $25 at the door. Everyone can participate, so come and join us in celebrating our past and our future in outer space!
Tickets purchased Wednesday, April 7 and after will not be mailed but will be available to pick-up at the door.



Yuri's Night Huntsville 2010 VIP "Permission to Dream Big" Reception

The evening will begin with a VIP “Permission to Dream Big” Reception organized for young professionals. We will bring Huntsville’s young, future leaders together with current Space, Science, Technology and Policy leaders. Attendees will gather on the Saturn Terrace at the Davidson Center from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. They will mingle with celebrity guests. With attendance for the reception limited to less than 150, attendees will have amply opportunity to talk one-on-one with the guests. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served with a cash bar (one free drink ticket will be included for each quest). Reception attendees will also receive a souvenir "space" 4x6 photograph. At this time, the $100 tickets are only available through corporate sponsorships. However, there will be are a limited number of tickets available to the public, go to the Buy Tickets tab to purchased these tickets.

Benefit for CAJA Friends, Inc.

The event will be hosted by CAJA Friends, Inc. CAJA (Court Appointed Juvenile Advocate) volunteers work to better the lives of abused, neglected and abandoned children, so they can grow up dreaming big dreams like all other kids. All children deserve enough security in their lives to feel they can dream big. Space exploration has always been one of humanity’s biggest dreams. So it is fitting that CAJA Friends, Inc. will host this celebration of Space Exploration to benefit the local CAJA program.


What is Yuri’s Night?

Yuri’s Night is a celebration of humanity’s achievements in space. On or about April 12, people from around the world come together to mark the anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s first flight into space (in 1961) and the first launch of the US Space Shuttle (in 1981). 2010 will be the 10th year for the Yuri’s Night Celebrations.
